Men Are Crying Over the New Jalapeno Chicken Sandwich at Carl's Jr.(R)

Jalapenos and Carl's Jr.'s Signature Santa Fe Sauce Thrills Heat-Seekers

CARPINTERIA, Calif., April 28 // PRNewswire-FirstCall // -- It's not everyday that chicken brings tears to grown men's eyes, but Carl's Jr.'s(R) new Jalapeno Chicken Sandwich does just that. With enough spice to challenge even a jalapeno-lover's taste buds, the Jalapeno Chicken Sandwich is also topped with Carl's Jr.'s zesty, signature Santa Fe sauce and Pepperjack cheese, so it's sure to leave stomachs satisfied and eyes glistening.

By combining the spicy success of the Jalapeno Burger and Jalapeno Six Dollar Burger(R) with the juicy flavor of its marinated and charbroiled chicken breast sandwiches, Carl's Jr. extends its history of product innovation in the quick-service restaurant industry.

"When we originally introduced the Jalapeno Burger more than two years ago, it became such a hit with our guests that it became a permanent menu item and several of our competitors subsequently tried to introduce similar products of their own," said Brad Haley, executive vice president of marketing, for Carl's Jr. "Since that time, we have received so many guest requests for that great taste combination of jalapenos, Pepperjack cheese and our famous Santa Fe sauce on our charbroiled chicken breast fillets that we decided to make it a stand-alone menu item of its own. Apparently, Carl's Jr. customers really enjoy the burn, especially when it tastes so good going down."

Peppers are not the only things that make the Jalapeno Chicken Sandwich spicily delicious. The charbroiled chicken breast is sandwiched between two seeded buns and Pepperjack cheese along with tomatoes, lettuce, onions, and Carl's Jr.'s signature Santa Fe sauce.

The Jalapeno Chicken Sandwich will sell a la carte for $3.99 or as part of a combo meal for $5.99, which includes fries and drink of choice, essential for taming the heat. Prices may vary.
