Jamie Strobino Duties Expanded At Uno(R)

May 01, 2008 // Franchising.com // Boston, MA,- Uno Restaurant Holdings Corp. announced a significant expansion of Senior Vice President of Purchasing Jamie Strobino's responsibilities. Effective immediately, Mr. Strobino will take direct responsibility for the Uno® design and construction department, ensuring that every Uno location meets the highest standards of aesthetics and quality. He will work closely with James M. Carey, Jr., vice president of design and construction, to support all of Uno's objectives. Toward that end, he will be responsible for the interface between purchasing and construction.

"Jamie has been a true asset to Uno since he joined the company last fall," said Frank W. Guidara, the company's chief executive officer. "He has been responsible for significant cost savings in purchasing and has been key to the development of Uno, Due, Go, which is a new fast casual concept for the brand. In his career, he has helped other companies achieve significant cost efficiencies while building 'best-in-class' facilities."

Prior to joining Uno, Mr. Strobino was chief operating officer at both the Border Cafe and Not Your Average Joe's. Before that, he spent a decade working on the Hard Rock Cafe brand, where his tenure culminated as vice president of international operations. In each role, he was involved in all aspects of the restaurant business, and these broad experiences give him an in-depth perspective of the skills and relationship building necessary to achieve the challenging objectives of his expanded purview.

Mr. Strobino is a member of the Council of Hospitality and Restaurant Trainers and the Society for Human Resource Management and he is past chair of the MRA Hospitality Institute development committee. A resident of Scituate, he is active in his community and serves as vice chair of the school committee and serves on the capital planning committee for his hometown. Mr. Strobino also volunteers teaching youth outreach programs at St. Luke's and has volunteered time to Share Our Strength.
