Founded in 2001, the Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award was initially for individuals only. With its growing success and recognition as a prestigious award, it expanded to ministries and other public and private institutions, to spread across different categories. This is the seventh year for this award to be held in Kuwait and this year it was extended to other Arab countries as well.
Seham Yousef, WSI Internet Marketing Consultant expressed her honour at receiving this award and went on to say, "Parents, teachers and children from Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Kuwait and other Arab countries have called us over the phone or sent us emails to give us their feedback about this e-learning portal. We are very happy that the website not only meets the needs of our different users but in fact, goes beyond their expectations in terms of the advanced features, functionality and interactivity. With the success of this project, many educational institutions have come forward and expressed their need for similar technology-enabled education mediums. We are looking forward to deliver on their expectations and grow the e-learning field in the Middle East. We know that the potential is huge and competition is very limited. Many can build a website but what we do is a very specialized niche – much more than creating a website."
