Bruegger's Celebrates Raleigh-Durham Grand Re-opening by Sharing Dough with Habitat for Humanity of Wake County

17 area bakeries showcase new interior design and offer breakfast and lunch specials as well as $10,000 gift card giveaway

May 16, 2008 // Franchising.com // Raleigh, North Carolina – Bruegger's Enterprises, Inc. officially reopened all of its Raleigh-Durham bakeries today celebrating a new, updated bakery design. To mark the occasion and thank the community for its support, a portion of opening day sales market-wide will be donated to Habitat for Humanity of Wake County. There are a total of 17 bakeries in the Raleigh-Durham area with 13 company-owned bakeries and four franchised.

A ribbon cutting ceremony led by Bruegger's CEO James J. Greco, Habitat for Humanity's Executive Director Woody Yates and city officials marked the grand re-opening. Bruegger's also gave away $10,000 worth of gift cards during the grand opening event. The first 25 guests at each bakery to make a purchase and go through the line received a Bruegger's $25 gift card.

As a part of the celebration, guests will also be able to enjoy breakfast and lunch specials throughout Thursday May 15. Bruegger's is offering a $1.49 bagel & cream cheese sandwich until 10:00 a.m. and a $2.99 Herby Turkey, Bruegger's most popular sandwich, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

As a result of the renovations, guests will notice immediate changes in the bakeries color scheme, new furniture, artwork and flooring. In addition, guests will have more seating options with booth-style seating and dining tables. Thirteen of Bruegger's 17 bakeries were renovated; four bakeries already featured the new look.

"We are committed to the Raleigh-Durham community and growing our business to offer our guests delicious, wholesome breakfast and lunch choices," said James J. Greco, Bruegger's CEO. "As a customer-driven organization, Bruegger's has a long and proud history of adapting to consumers' tastes and changes. These latest changes certainly modernize our bakery and will enhance our guests' overall dining experience."

Kettle boiled first; Bruegger's bagels are baked fresh throughout the day to give them an authentic crunchy crust on the outside and a dense, chewy texture on the inside. In addition to fresh, hot bagels, Bruegger's offers an extensive menu free of artificial trans fats. Menu items include omelet breakfast sandwiches, new Signature Soups, hand-crafted, fresh-tossed salads, made-to-order sandwiches and unique Green Mountain Coffee Roasters® coffee blends, including a daily Fair Trade CertifiedÔ blend and the new frozen, blended coffee, the Brrrueggaccino, at participating bakeries.
