Mid-Year Conference to be held June 25-27 in Dallas

May 21, 2008 // Franchising.com // (DALLAS, Texas) – On June 25th, the company will officially launch its new and expanded freight opportunity to the entire Worldwide Express organization as a kickoff to their mid-year conference, which will be held June 25-27 at the Palomar Hotel in Dallas. This new freight initiative will be the focal point of the mid-year conference. Expected in attendance are several hundred Worldwide Express franchise owners, managers, select key account and sales executives, and representatives from all partnered freight companies. The conference will include presentations from the freight carriers, the corporate development staff, and other notable speakers. In addition, all sales managers in attendance will review their year to date sales numbers to date and set projections for the remainder of the year. As always, the conference will include a Thursday night event, this year being held at Top Golf Dallas.

Jim Fraga, VP of Freight Services, is excited about the opportunity to bring the entire company together in this new enterprise.

"As a company we have felt the anticipation that has been building over the past three months regarding freight and we are excited about the infusion of new growth for the entire Worldwide family."

According to David Kiger, President and CEO, the new freight opportunity has a familiar feel to the initial startup of the company.

"Our enthusiasm for this new venture into freight is much like our launch into light package was 15 years ago. Up to this point, Worldwide Express has been the only reseller to only sell light package. We expect this entry into freight to produce hundreds of millions of dollars of new revenue. We understand the breadth of this $100B opportunity and its impact on our existing customer base, as well as for those customers that previously were off limits to us. This is truly a new frontier with a fantastic upside of expansion and profitability for all of us."
