Carrabba's Chicken Bryan Wins 'Best Overall Dish' and 'Best Entree' Awards at 29th Annual Taste of Cincinnati

Carrabba's Takes Top Honors at Nation's Longest Running Culinary Arts Festival for Second Consecutive Year

TAMPA, Fla., May 22 // PRNewswire // -- Carrabba's Italian Grill, known for bold dishes inspired by the authentic family recipes of founders Johnny Carrabba and Damian Mandola, won the "Best Overall Dish" and "Best Entree" awards for its Chicken Bryan dish at the Best of Taste culinary competition which precedes the Taste of Cincinnati festival. This marks the second consecutive year that Carrabba's Chicken Bryan has won the "Best Overall Dish" category. Carrabba's also took top honors in additional Best of Taste awards for other menu items. Carrabba's has three locations in the Cincinnati area including Crestview Hills, Beechmont and Deerfield Township.

The Best of Taste competition is judged by regional celebrities and occurs prior to the Taste of Cincinnati, festival which is held annually over the Memorial Day weekend. The Best of Taste Awards are viewed as Cincinnati's most prestigious culinary awards. Carrabba's is one of the 40 restaurants whose menu items were judged at the competition and will be featured at the Taste of Cincinnati festival.

Chicken Bryan is an 8 ounce grilled chicken breast, topped with Caprino goat cheese, sun dried tomatoes and a basil lemon butter sauce. The dish is prepared over Carrabba's signature wood-burning grill where it is basted with a special mixture of ingredients all adding to the chicken's famous flavor and tenderness. Chicken Bryan is named after the city of Bryan, Texas, where the Carrabba family settled after emigrating from Italy to the United States.

"Chicken Bryan is one of our most ordered dishes at Carrabba's, and we're honored that it has been recognized in the best entree and best overall dish categories," said Johnny Carrabba, co-founder of Carrabba's. "It is also very fulfilling for us since our recipes have been passed down in our family for four generations."

In addition to winning the "Best Overall Dish" and "Best Entree" awards, Carrabba's also won in two other Best of Taste categories. Carrabba's Salmon Citriolini won the "Award of Excellence, Seafood Entree," and Mama Mandola's Sicilian Chicken Soup won the "Award of Excellence, Soup and Salad."
