Interstate Batteries Franchise and Development Donates $25,000 to China Earthquake Relief

May 23, 2008 // Franchising.com // - (DALLAS) – Interstate Batteries Franchise and Development, the franchisor of Interstate All Battery Center, has donated $25,000 to relief efforts such as food, water and blankets to victims of the devastating earthquake in China that killed and injured tens of thousands and left many more homeless.

"We feel a strong responsibility to help our friends in China, where many of our products are manufactured," said President of Interstate Batteries Franchise and Development Mickey Elam. "No amount of money will completely ease their suffering, but hopefully, joined with the outpouring of support from around the globe, we can help them survive these first awful weeks following the tragedy."

Interstate Batteries has a strong supply chain relationship with Service Around The Clock (SATC), a manufacturing company in Hong Kong that is participating directly in the China earthquake relief efforts, and is working with SATC to ensure that the money goes directly where it is needed most.

"At Interstate Batteries we realize the loss of a loved one is an experience so profound that words can not adequately express the depth of emotions, said Interstate Batteries Vice President of Supply Chain Chris Antoniou." With death tolls rising and families homeless, Interstate encourages other organizations to offer support in this traumatic time of need."
