A Message to our Customers About the FDA Tomato Warning Announcement

June 11, 2008 // Franchising.com // Dallas, TX – At Pizza Hut, your safety and well-being is our top priority. So strictly as a precaution, we are temporarily not serving tomatoes. Like other restaurants and supermarkets, we are following the FDA Advisory warning consumers not to eat certain tomatoes. We apologize to our customers for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

This removal does not apply to our pizza sauce. The tomatoes in our sauce are fully cooked and not part of the FDA advisory for raw tomatoes.

For more information and updates about the tomato warning announcement, please visit the FDA or CDC web sites at: www.fda.gov and www.cdc.gov. For further updates about the availability of tomatoes at Pizza Hut, please visit our Newsroom at www.pizzahut.com where we will be posting information as it becomes available.
