Microtel Inn & Suites Hotel Breaks Ground In Woodstock, Ontario, Canada

June 18, 2008 // Franchising.com // - Ontarinns Inc. of Toronto has broken ground on a 74-room Microtel Inn & Suites hotel at 811 Athlone Avenue in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada. The hotel – scheduled to open in early 2009 – is located at the intersection of Highways 401 and 403 in a rapidly growing area of Ontario. Nearby are Woodstock Raceway & Slots, Fanshawe College, and Toyota Motor Manufacturing of Canada.

Microtel Inns & Suites is the award-winning chain of all new-construction economy/limited service hotels. The new Woodstock hotel will showcase the brand's award-winning prototype design, and boast a contemporary and streamlined, yet practical environment, with unexpected enhancements that guests would not ordinarily expect to find in an economy hotel.

"We are excited to bring the Microtel concept to Woodstock and surrounding Oxford County, a quickly growing region located on Canada's main highway in the heart of Southwestern Ontario," said Henry Lowry, President of Ontarinns Inc., which also owns and operates Microtel's first hotel in Canada that opened in Parry Sound, Ontario in 2006. "The Microtel brand is an excellent fit for this area and will serve the growing demand of business and leisure travelers for quality and comfortable accommodations at a competitive price."

The three-story Microtel Inn & Suites in Woodstock will offer single, double and suite accommodations. With the new design, the hotel's color palette will integrate rich, deep colors to create a comfortable, inviting atmosphere and consistent theme throughout. All guestrooms will feature a flat-panel television, sleek granite countertops, and desk units with easily accessible power and data ports. Suites, equipped with Microtel's signature MicroKitchen™, will be divided into four 'zones' with ample space to work, eat, sleep and relax.

Amenities will include free WIFI in all guestrooms; free local calls and phones with data port and voice mail; Microtel's new complimentary Get Up and Joe™ daily continental breakfast, indoor swimming pool; fitness center; meeting room, and guest laundry. In addition, the hotel will feature the stylish Microtel Dream Well™ bedding with plush pillow-top mattress and high quality 200-thread count white linens with triple sheeting.

There are currently 331 Microtel hotels open and under construction worldwide. Additional Microtels in Canada are being developed in London, Ontario; Bridgewater, Dartmouth, Halifax, Kentville and Sydney, Nova Scotia; Fredericton, Moncton and St. John, New Brunswick; and St. John's (Airport), Newfoundland.
