ST LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Build-A-Bear Workshop, Inc. (NYSE: BBW), an interactive entertainment retailer of customized stuffed animals, today announced that it has appointed Eric Fencl as general counsel, effective immediately.
Fencl will have responsibility for the company's legal, corporate governance and disclosure matters and will serve as a liaison between the Board of Directors, senior management and the company's shareholders. Fencl will report to Maxine Clark, chairman and chief executive bear.

Fencl, has 18 years of legal experience including 10 years serving as corporate counsel or general counsel for public companies. Fencl began his legal career at Bryan Cave LLP in 1990. In 1993, he joined the McDonnell Douglas Corporation legal team as counsel. In 1997, Fencl joined Monsanto Company as corporate counsel and assistant secretary. Fencl most recently served as executive vice president, general counsel and secretary for Outsourcing Solutions Inc., an accounts receivable management company with sales of $500 million and locations in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Fencl, who is 45 years old, earned his bachelor's and law degrees from Washington University in St. Louis. He is a member of the Missouri and Illinois Bar Associations and is a Certified Public Accountant.
