DALLAS, July 9 // PRNewswire-FirstCall // -- Blockbuster Inc. (NYSE: BBI, BBI.B) announced the appointment of Rebeca "Becky" Johnson as Chief Marketing Officer. In her new role, she will have responsibility for the Company's overall branding and marketing efforts.

"Her expertise in consumer insights, history of successful marketing/brand development, and proven ability to redefine the customer experience will be a tremendous asset as we continue to transform Blockbuster to offer consumers convenient access to media entertainment."
Before joining Blockbuster, Johnson was the Chief Marketing and Global Branding Officer for Brinker International, where she was responsible for all brand development strategies, consumer insights, culinary development, marketing communications and innovation for Brinker's multi-billion-dollar portfolio of casual dining restaurant brands.
Prior to that, she spent 16 years at PepsiCo/Frito-Lay/KFC in a variety of general management, marketing and sales roles. Most recently, she led the growth strategies for the Doritos(R) and Cheetos(R) Business Unit, where she was responsible for brand strategy, positioning and architecture, new product development, channel management, sales integration, supply chain forecasting and overall financial performance. She began her career at Ogilvy and Mather Advertising.
Johnson is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Advanced Management program and earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree is business administration from Dallas Baptist University. She has served on the board of directors for a number of organizations, including the YMCA of North Texas and the Latina Leadership Board in Washington, D.C. She is a member of the CMO Top 50 and the Women's Foodservice Forum.
