WSI Young Entrepreneur 2008 Announced

Peruvian 21 year old Business Administration student awarded scholarship.

Toronto, Canada, August 02, 2008 --(PR.com)-- WSI has announced the 2008 WSI Young Entrepreneur under its Global Young Entrepreneur Scholarship (YES!) Program, a corporate youth outreach initiative. Ellymel Fernandez, a talented 21 year old girl student currently completing her graduate degree in Business Administration has been selected as the WSI YES! candidate for 2008.

The world's leading provider of Internet Solutions to small and medium sized businesses (SMB) launched this initiative in October 2007 at the company's annual Global Excellence and Innovation (E&I) Conference in Orlando, Florida. Since then, over 1500 Internet Consultants in the WSI franchisee network were involved in scouting young, entrepreneurial talent globally. The distinguished panel of selection committee members in the WSI network evaluated several applications for the program, before announcing the name of the selected candidate.

The 2008 WSI Young Entrepreneur, Ellymel, was born in a small village in Apurimac, considered one of the poorest and most uneducated regions in Peru. Ron McArthur, president, WSI says, "Ellymel came to us highly recommended by our WSI Consultant, Rober Aphang in Lima, Peru. The selection committee reviewed her personal, academic and professional qualifications in great detail. Despite the socio-economic shortcomings of her family, we were happy to note that her parents had done exceedingly well in raising their three children, educating them and guiding them in the right direction for a stable future. We found that this young lady is determined to pursue higher education and has a keen sense of business. Besides she is also involved in local community activities like raising help for victims of the earthquake that hit her home town last August. We wish her luck and welcome her into the WSI family. We are confident that she will become an inspiring model for future WSI Young Entrepreneurs."

The WSI YES! Program is a way for WSI to help foster and encourage the development of the next generation of entrepreneurs by recognizing young, aspiring business people between the ages of 21 to 31. WSI will award its franchise to the selected young entrepreneur. The Scholarship also includes a special Mentoring program by other experienced WSI Consultants. This will aid the young entrepreneur in establishing a sound Internet services and consulting business that helps SMB customers stay competitive and profitable.

The WSI training, Internet Marketing Certification and fast-track Mentoring she receives will help her deliver Internet solutions catering to all audiences, with a special focus on the millennial consumer.

Computer-able since childhood, the Millennials are accustomed to depending on computers, instant messaging, e-mail, the Web, interactive media, and cell phones in every aspect of their daily lives. These tools and gadgets have visibly and permanently influenced the personalities, attitudes, expectations, and learning strategies of this generation. WSI's YES Program aims to tap into this extraordinary potential of today's youngsters connecting them with the SME market.
