CENTURY 21 John DeVries Ltd. Shatter Fundraising Goal for Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life

August 08, 2008 // Franchising.com // - Vancouver, BC – CENTURY 21 Canada is proud to congratulate CENTURY 21 John DeVries Ltd. of Ottawa, ON for raising $5,300 in the Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life.

CENTURY 21 John DeVries Ltd. hoped to raise $2,100, but the 13-member team was pleased to far surpass that goal through generous donations by clients, friends and business associates. CENTURY 21 John DeVries Ltd. participated in the Stittsville, ON Relay for Life, which raised $155,716. There has been just over $14 million raised in Ontario in 2008 through the Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life events. There has been $47.4 million dollars raised nationally, and 27 events still remain.

"While the weather wasn't perfect," says David Armstrong, Broker/Manager for CENTURY 21 John DeVries Ltd., "it was an enjoyable, touching and significant event in our lives." He continues on to say, "Cancer is a disease that has touched everyone. We all have colleagues, friend and family members who have had fights with cancer. Some have survived, while sadly others have passed away. This was our opportunity to help raise funds to assist in research to help rid society of this disease." CENTURY 21 John DeVries Ltd. plans to enter a team in the 2009 Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life.
