Gold'S Gym Strengthens International Expansion Efforts With New Director Of Franchise Development For Asia-Pacific Region

August 14, 2008 // Franchising.com // Dallas, Texas – Gold's Gym, the most recognized name in fitness, announced today that Marc R. Eisman has joined the company as Director of Franchise Development and Support, Asia-Pacific. In his new role, Eisman will be responsible for developing Gold's Gym franchise opportunities in Australia, where he is based, and throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Eisman will report to Keith Albright, senior vice president of franchising for Gold's Gym .

Eisman is a licensed chiropractor and formerly a Gold's Gym franchisee who introduced the brand in Australia and the south Pacific 11 years ago – and consequently raised the fitness industry standard there. He was brought on as part of a strategic move to grow Gold's Gym with new locations in existing and untapped markets worldwide. Having received numerous academic honors and appointments including as an adjunct associate clinical professor of chiropractic science at the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, Los Angeles, California and as a lecturer at the Mark MaGaw Institute of Sports Science in Sydney, Australia, Eisman sees his new role at Gold's Gym as an ideal progression to help lead prospective investors, particularly those interested in the science of fitness, into achieving their entrepreneurial dreams.

"Gold's Gym is at once a brand rich with history and a concept on the cutting edge of health and fitness. I am thrilled to be part of their exciting growth strategy," Eisman said. "With an ever-increasing emphasis worldwide on incorporating exercise into one's daily routine, Gold's Gym is a worthwhile investment on multiple levels."

With the addition of Eisman to Gold's Gym, the company is signaling that it intends to continue to aggressively expand its international franchise base, especially in the Asia-Pacific area, through master franchise agreements, multi-unit franchise development agreements and single location franchise agreements. Furthermore, Eisman's hiring represents the continued commitment by Gold's Gym to build and expand its infrastructure to provide professional support and services to its franchisees and members worldwide.

"We are thrilled to welcome Marc to the Gold's Gym corporate team," said Keith Albright, senior vice president of franchising for Gold's Gym Franchising, LLC. "I am confident that with his expertise and background he will help us take our aggressive international expansion to the next level."

Prior to his association with Gold's Gym, Eisman was a lecturer of microbiology and public health at the Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles, Calif. and an assistant professor of clinical sciences and physical therapy rehabilitation at Southern California College of Chiropractic in Los Angeles.

Eisman holds a doctor of chiropractic from the Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles and a bachelor's degree in life science from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York.
