Boston Pizza opens first restaurant and sports bar in Bracebridge

Opening creates 80 new jobs

September 05, 2008 // Franchising.com // Bracebridge, ON, - Boston Pizza International Inc. announces the grand opening of its first restaurant and sports bar in Bracebridge, Ontario on Monday, September 8, 2008. The new restaurant, located at 10 Depot Drive, will create 80 jobs in the local community and is part of Boston Pizza's steady expansion across Ontario.

Boston Pizza Bracebridge is owned by Huntsville resident Brad McIlmoyle, and partners Karson Clark, Al Morrison, Upinder Dhanon and Steve Pritchard. The store will be operated by Brad McIlmoyle and Karson Clark. McIlmoyle, who also owns the Boston Pizza in Orillia and operates the Gravenhurst location, brings 30 years of restaurant industry experience to the new Bracebridge Boston Pizza.

"We look forward to providing a quality family dining experience to the people of Bracebridge," says franchisee Brad McIlmoyle. "Our sports bar, with five 58-inch plasma TVs, is also a great place for sports fans to gather and catch the big game."

With more than 100 menu items, there's something for everyone at Boston Pizza. Guests can choose from 23 different varieties of gourmet pizza, plus pasta, appetizers, ribs, entrées, salads and desserts. Boston Pizza's Delicious Alternatives menu offers six Health CheckTM items that are lower in fat, sodium and carbohydrate content, and the Kids Menu offers delicious, healthy options for kids.

As part of its commitment to the local community, the staff of Boston Pizza Bracebridge will present a cheque to Big Sisters of Muskoka from tips generated through six dress rehearsals at the grand opening party on Friday, September 5. Big Sisters of Muskoka is a mentorship program that matches six to 16-year old, at-risk girls with volunteer mentors to create meaningful relationships.

The restaurant also supports the Snow bombers Snow Mobile Club, the Canadian Cancer Society, and Bracebridge minor hockey. Boston Pizza will also raise funds for Kids Help Phone, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada through the Boston Pizza Foundation, which has raised more than $7.7 million for various Canadian charities since its inception in 1990.
