Speciality Packaging Firm Opens To Service Philadelphia Area With Record Breaking First Month Sales.

Navis Pack & Ship, a franchise company that packs and ships electronics equipment, artwork, machinery and other fragile, large, awkward or valuable (FLAV) items, has opened in the Philadelphia Metro area.

/24-7PressRelease/ - Philadelphia, Pa, - Navis Pack & Ship, a franchise company that packs and ships electronics equipment, artwork, machinery and other fragile, large, awkward or valuable (FLAV) items, has opened in the Philadelphia Metro area.

The business, located at 780 Primos Avenue in Folcroft, PA (two miles from Philadelphia Intl. Airport), provides custom packaging, crating, pickup, shipping, storage and fulfillment to a wide range of both residential and commercial customers. Owners Peter and Rebecca Michaelson decided in 2008 to move back to the Philadelphia area. Mr. Michaelson, a graduate of the Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania, married his wife while a grad student there in 1973. They always loved the Philadelphia area and talked about returning one day to start their own business. They bought into the Navis franchise in February 2008, moved back to Philadelphia from Cleveland (where Peter had been head of marketing for OfficeMax), and immediately launched into setting up their new business and 6000 sq. ft. warehouse. Navis Pack & Ship of Philadelphia opened on July 14th, 2008 and is already busy serving customers in the Metro area. With more than $57,000 in billings, Navis Pack & Ship of Philadelphia is about to close the largest first full month in business of any franchise in Navis history.

The company fills the substantial niche between movers (who generally require at least 2000 lbs.) and small parcel shippers (who limit shipments to 150 lbs. and provide minimal packaging capabilities) with logistics services for goods that require custom packaging. For example, the company can design and build crates for heavy but fragile items such as servers, telephone switching systems, grandfather clocks and motorcycles. Crystal, sculptures and other delicate items may be cushioned and immobilized with "foam-in-place" molds. Navis also consolidates small shipments of business and household goods on pallets to reduce handling of individual pieces and provide the safest and most economical shipping method.

Navis Pack & Ship has access to all modes of transportation, including parcel shippers, LTL (less-than-truckload) carriers, air, rail and ocean-going vessels. Through its extensive network, the company provides worldwide pick-up and delivery, warehousing and coordination of jobs in multiple locations. It offers full-value transit insurance, even for high-value goods.

Navis Pack & Ship, with approximately 90 locations in North America and growing quickly, has dominated the market for specialty logistics for more than 25 years. For more information, visit www.goNavis.com/pa1104.
