More than 3,100 consumers rate restaurants on specific dining attributes
TAMPA, Fla., Sept. 16 // PRNewswire // -- Carrabba's Italian Grill was recently honored with the first place Platinum Award in the best Italian restaurant category in Restaurants & Institutions magazine's Consumers' Choice in Chains awards. This is the fourth consecutive year in which Carrabba's has been recognized in this category.
"Our Carrabba's family is thrilled to earn the highest honor in the best Italian restaurant category," said Steve Shlemon, president of Carrabba's Italian Grill. "For more than 20 years we have worked hard to provide our guests with quality cuisine in a warm and inviting atmosphere, and we appreciate their loyalty to us. The prestigious award underscores our commitment to customer service and restaurant excellence."
The Restaurants & Institutions annual awards program recognizes restaurants that are selected through a survey of more than 3,100 restaurant consumers. Diners were asked to rate nearly 120 chain restaurants on eight consumer satisfaction points: food quantity, menu variety, value, service, atmosphere, cleanliness, reputation and convenience. Winners are named in 13 menu categories. This was the 28th year for this annual award to be presented.
Carrabba's Italian Grill was founded by Johnny Carrabba and Damian Mandola in Houston, Texas in 1986. The restaurant features hand-prepared family recipes made from the finest ingredients and prepared to order in an exhibition kitchen. The success of Carrabba's led to the popular PBS cooking show Cucina!, starring Carrabba and Mandola, as well as a series of companion cookbooks.
