Yogen Fruz Brings Healthy, Tasty Fro-Yo to Hawaii, Planning 7 New Locations

Probiotic Frozen Yogurt Chain to Open First New Locations through Master Franchisee Trmop LLC in Kapolei Crossroads, the Waikele area and Waikiki

September 18, 2008 // Franchising.com // TORONTO, CANADA - Yogen Fruz, a frozen yogurt chain with 1,100 stores in over 20 countries, announced today it recently signed a development agreement that will allow Trmop LLC, a Honolulu-based master franchisee, to open 7 new stores, at least 5 of which will be located on Oahu, Hawaii's main island. Trmop and Yogen Fruz are targeting Kapolei Crossroads, the Waikele area and Waikiki for the first store openings.

Trmop LLC will call upon its extensive experience in supply/logistics, customer service and management and finance, administration and economic analysis to open and manage each location to success, says Yogen Fruz.

"Yogen Fruz expects to capture the business of local residents - as well as tourists - in the state of Hawaii with our unique blending system, which combines delicious and nutritious frozen yogurt and fruit," says Aaron Serruya, co-founder of Yogen Fruz. "This is one of many recent development agreements that Yogen Fruz has entered into as part of our U.S. expansion efforts and is a great step for the franchise as a whole."

Yogen Fruz's expansion to Hawaii comes shortly on the heels of several U.S. development agreements that include locations in Los Angeles, Georgia, Florida, Texas, and Illinois (to name a few), as well as a recent international agreement in Australia.

"Hawaii is an important part of Yogen Fruz's expansion, and we're excited to be involved with such a trusted, well-known, and well-established name in the frozen yogurt business," commented Tina Marie Pinlac, Vice President of Trmop LLC.

Yogen Fruz's signature create-your-own yogurt/fruit blends are made from a combination of low-fat, non-fat or no-sugar-added frozen yogurt and any of 16 varieties of flash-frozen fresh fruit, mixed in the company's proprietary machines while customers watch. Low-fat and non-fat yogurt (as well as the dairy smoothies) are packed with added probiotic cultures that have been shown to promote a healthy digestive system, improve mineral absorption, fortify the immune system, manage lactose intolerance and even help lower cholesterol.
