JAXQuickfit Tyres Salmander Bay Wins Small Business Awards

Sydney, NSW (PRWEB) September 26, 2008 -- If nothing succeeds like success, then a Salamander Bay business is on the right track.

The team at JAXQuickfit Tyres, Salamander Bay, on the NSW mid-north coast, is celebrating its win in the Port Stephens Examiner Small Business Awards.

Jason Holland and his team were among 145 finalists in more than 30 categories, before being named as the lucky winners of the Most Outstanding Automotive Service and Retail award.

"It's a real pat on the back, a reward for our hard work" says Jason, who took over the Salamander Bay store in April this year.

"Obviously most of our customers are happy with the service and products we offer, and we must be doing our job right. You can't please everyone all the time, because problems do arise, but it's a priority for us to sort out any of those little issues - we like to make sure our customers leave us happy.

"We're very pleased that they're happy with what we're doing, and delighted they took the time to vote for us. It's a great boost for the business."

However Jason says the win was not just down to the votes of satisfied customers; the paper followed through with some mystery judging, and that assessment clearly backed up that of the happy clients.

Jason, who was born and bred in Brisbane before moving south four years ago, has a history in the automotive industry. His move to Salamander Bay came when he was working for another company. He fell in love with the area and wanted to stay.

"I wanted my own business and this store came on the market. The appeal was being able to run my own show but having the back-up of the strength and support that the team at JAXQuickfit offers.

"I really love the customer service aspect of the business and with the products and services we can offer through the power of JAXQuickfit, we can solve a lot of problems for people. This really is a one-stop shop."

Jason says he and wife Bernice and their young daughter and son (aged 10 and seven, respectively) love the lifestyle of Salamander Bay, with the fishing, surfing and other water sports on offer, and the small, friendly, close-knit community they have become part of.

"We're certainly hoping we can go back to back with another win at the Awards next year, but a big part of that is up to us - keeping our customers happy.

"Between now and then, because the store is in new hands, we need to make sure that people know we're here and that we are reliable, reputable and trustworthy. That way, they will give us their business - and, hopefully, their votes."
