Marco's Pizza Opens First Georgia Unit in Columbus; Three More Planned This Year; Marks 14th State for Growing Company

Atlanta, GA--(Marketwire) - Marco's Pizza, home of the Ah!thentic Italian Pizza, opened its first Georgia unit at 1290 Double Churches Road, Columbus, GA. Phone number for the new store is 706-507-3333.

The new store offers customers seven day a week service with the Marco's menu of custom made Ah!thentic Italian Pizza, fresh baked subs, salads, chicken wings and soft drinks.

Scott Dickey, owner of Big Papa's LLC, the franchise company that acquired the rights to expand up to 25 Marco's into Columbus, Macon, Albany DMA's plus Auburn, Opelika and LaGrange, announced the opening.

Marco's Pizza, headquartered in Toledo, Ohio, was founded in 1978. Marco's Pizza is committed to making Ah!thentic Italian Pizza with fresh ingredients. Over the past 30 years, Marco's has grown from its roots in Ohio to operate more than 170 stores in 13 states.

Marco's Pizza newest store in Columbus will make Georgia the 14th state Marco's has expanded into.

Marco's Pizza focuses on three key areas: dough, sauce and cheese. Standards have been established in order to deliver consistent levels of quality and freshness expected of Marco's products: dough made fresh daily in each store; a proprietary sauce recipe; and an exclusive blend of three fresh cheeses.

This past year, Marco's Pizza experienced more than 12 percent same store sales growth among company managed stores and more than 6 percent same store sales growth among the entire Marco's system.

According to Dickey, Marco's has four stores planned to open in Georgia over the next six months in Columbus/Phenix City. Andy Walden Owner of Kabana Enterprises, LLC will open the first Phenix City store located at 5408 Summerville Road (Publix Shopping Center) on October 1st. Pamela Bone, Owner of Pizza Bone's LLC will also own and operate two other stores located in Columbus. Both stores are slated to open by the end of 2008; they will be located at 5120 Warm Springs Road and 13th Street in front of Lewis Jones.

Marco's Pizza anticipates having 500 stores in operation by 2010, more than triple its current number. Currently Marco's has stores located in 13 states: Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
