Knockouts Awards First Franchise Rights For South Florida

Boxing-themed, men's-only hair salon sells franchise rights for the South Beach territory

October 10, 2008 // Franchising.com // Dallas, Texas –– Irving, Texas-based Knockouts Haircuts for Men has signed an agreement awarding the rights for a franchisee to open in South Beach. "Knockouts is one of the fastest-growing franchise concepts in America. We have now sold more than 300 stores, which puts us among the top 5% of all franchises nationwide," said Tom Friday, Knockouts' chief executive officer. "Through our aggressive franchise sales efforts, we've tripled the size of our company since the beginning of 2007."

The full-service, boxing-themed salon provides competitively-priced haircuts and is known for its specially-chosen staff of attractive female hairstylists wearing Knockouts Girls™ boxing uniforms. The salons also specialize in color/lightening, massage therapy, manicures, pedicures and hair waxing.

Knockouts offers a pampering experience for men that is not available at other discount walk-in salons, such as providing large leather chairs, individual flat screen TV's with remote controls at each station and complimentary beer. The environment is upscale, yet relaxed and male focused.

Kelly and Jennifer Wyatt lead the group of investors originally awarded the master franchise rights to most of Florida. The group is based in Virginia. Kelly is an experienced Area Developer with the Liberty Tax franchise and oversees more than 140 open units in numerous states.

The anticipated opening date of their first Florida Salon is late December.
