Kilohana Grill: What's In A Name

Kilohana Grill: What's In A Name

November 11, 2008 // // Maybe you already know that the island of Kauai is known as the Garden Island and the first of the main Hawaiian island's to be colonized by the sea-farers of the south Pacific. You might also know that Kauai has the wettest spot on Earth - more rain falls onto Kauai each year than anywhere else in the world!

And you might already know that the wettest spot on Kauai is Mount Waialeale.

On the south eastern side of Mt. Waialeale is a lessor known extinct volcano by the name of Kilohana. For those that have been to Kauai you may have gone to brunch at Gaylord's which was the Albert Wilcox family home at his plantation:

And while you may learn that the principal stockholder in Kilohana Restaurant Group, LLC is from the town of Puhi, which is across the highway from Kilohana Plantation - and a direct line of site to Kilohana crater, the word Kilohana was chosen for its Hawaiian translation: Best or Excellent / Excellence. And that is just what a Kilohana Grill(TM) is … the very best Hawaiian food found anywhere on the mainland, around the globe or even in Hawaii.

What makes the Kilohana recipe special is the levels of quality control that "uncle" Myron demanded of himself to ensure that each Kilohana Grill (TM) franchise would indeed be consistent with the Kilohana name & brand: Excellent.

And it must be working. A Kilohana Grill (TM) closes at 8PM and rarely is there any food left to carry-over to the next day.

Customers from Hawaii share their appreciation with "Auntie" Pam for bringing to the mainland meals as they remember growing up. And if you are not from Hawaii you will be spoiled. In today's Hawaii you have to search for older restaurants that still cook and deliver in keeping with their upbringing and rarely will your Hawaiian-oriented eating experience on the mainland reach the level of excellence that can be found at Kilohana Grill (TM). The quality of the food - the Kilohana brand will bring you back over and over again. When you strip away the décor and music of a typical Hawaiian-themed restaurant all that is left to test the value of the experience is the quality level of the food. Expect only the very best from Auntie and Uncle and their Kilohana experience.

When you think Hawaii - Think Kilohana (TM)
