Rapidly Expanding Fast Casual Flatbread Café will Open in Southeast Michigan
November 18, 2008 // Franchising.com // West Redding, CT, — Sandella's Flatbread Café has signed a contract with J & K Industries to introduce the hot concept to the Southeast Michigan area. Sandella's Flatbread Café is the largest flatbread concept in the world with more than 125 locations offering healthy and delicious menu items based on its famous flatbread. Sandella's recently opened in Hollywood and Orange County, California, and will soon have a location in the Newark airport. There are 400 more restaurants in development across the U.S. and the United Arab Emirates.
J & K Industries is targeting Southeast Michigan areas such as Birmingham, Ann Arbor and Troy for their upcoming stores and hope to open their first location by the end of the summer in 2009.
Joseph Brown, a representative from J & K Industries, says the company sees this move as "An exciting opportunity to be a pioneer in this market with such an amazing new restaurant concept. We are really blown away with Sandella's – not just the delicious food, but the fact that it's healthy. People in Southeast Michigan are going to love it."
Sandella's Flatbread Café incorporates the hottest trends in the fast casual segment, serving fresh, hot and healthy menu items such as grilled flatbreads, paninis, sandwiches, chopped salads, rice bowls and quesadillas – all made with their own delicious brick-oven, low calorie, fat free flatbread. Already ahead of its time, Sandella's menu is trans-fat free and listed in the Weight Watchers Points Guide.
Restaurants average 1,000-1,500 square feet and seat 30 to 40 guests.
