LOUISVILLE, Ky., Nov 25, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Papa John's founder John Schnatter, his wife Annette, and their Evergreen Real Estate company, last week were named the 2008 National Trails Corporate Award winners, during the American Trails 19th National Trails Symposium in Little Rock, Ark.
The Schnatters and Evergreen were honored for their efforts in trail creation and greenway improvements in the greater Louisville area. Their efforts included $3 million in financial support for the Louisville regional trails efforts, and the design and construction of the Anchorage Trail, a 1-mile trail in Anchorage, Ky., that has now been expanded to a 2-mile loop.
"A lot of hard work and planning by the entire town of Anchorage went into the Anchorage Trail project," said Schnatter." I want to thank Tim O'Hern and the rest of the Evergreen team for their work, along with Bob Searns and Bill Neumann of The GreenWay Team. As for the Louisville 100-mile trail project, the credit goes to David Jones and his team. We are honored to have a played a small role in that project."
