Good Earth Cafes serves another rare Coffee exclusive to Good Earth

CALGARY/ALBERTA/MEDIA ADVISORY--(Marketwire) - Good Earth Coffeehouse and Bakery, a Calgary based coffeehouse chain is pleased to announce that customers can get a taste of one of the world's rarest coffees that has been selected and roasted exclusively for Good Earth.

As of November 19, a limited quantity of Honduran coffee "Las Amazonas", a Cup of Excellence® award winning coffee is available for sale in ½ lb. bags of whole beans for $18.95 and by the single cup brewed on order with a French Press for $4.75 for a 16oz cup. "We want to provide our clientele with a world class premium cup of coffee that you can't get anywhere else and, even though it is more expensive than regular brewed coffee, it is still affordable", says Gerry Docherty, Chief Operating Officer. This coffee has its own unique flavor profile that's described as a creamy body with flavors of almond, marzipan, apricot, red apple, vanilla aromas and black cherry. The Cup of Excellence® will be available three times per year, each time with a different coffee.

The Cup of Excellence® also allows Good Earth to continue its support of sustainability for the farmers, their farms, and their way to make a living, their families, and their communities." The farm is located in the La Paz region in Honduras. The farmer Erzi Moises Herrera Urizar runs the farm with his two sons, and wife who have been in the coffee business for the past 50 years. He says his success lies in picking only the red cherries by hand, good farm management and keeping the farm well nourished. He and his family and workers are aware of the protection of the environment and give the proper process to pulp and residue waters.

The Cup of Excellence® is the most esteemed award given out for top coffees around the world. These awards come from a strict competition that selects the very best coffee produced in that country for that particular year. Coffees of this exemplary quality are very rare and limited in availability. These coffees are perfectly ripe, carefully picked with well developed body, pleasant aroma and a lively sweetness that only extremely high quality specialty coffees contain.
