Calgary/Alberta/Media Release--(Marketwire) - Good Earth Coffeehouse and Bakery, a Calgary based success story, is bringing its authentic coffeehouse concept to the Regina market. The plans are to open 3-4 locations within the next 3 years. The first cafe is expected to open downtown in the summer of 2009. In addition sites in Normanview, Victoria East and the proposed Harbour Centre development in the southwest are currently under consideration.
Michael Going, President and Co-founder of Good Earth says that "We are thrilled to contribute to the coffee culture in Regina. This city has such a vibrant street scene and strong sense of community. We are looking forward to playing our part in this great community."
Good Earth has carved out a niche in the competitive coffee market with its 100% organic, shade grown and fair trade coffee. The coffee beans are also small batch roasted for the freshest coffee possible. Along with its top quality coffee and espresso, Good Earth offers food that is made from scratch using fresh, wholesome ingredients and includes items liked Scones, Muffins, Cookies and Squares that are baked fresh daily. It also offers lunch specials such as Macaroni and Cheese and hearty Soups and Stews.
Good Earth is a model that a business can be successful by doing what's important for customers, the community and the environment. All the cafes are 100% wind-powered, which costs more, but Good Earth believes it's the right thing to do. Serving 100% organic coffee and non-processed foods is also more expensive but it's better for customers. Good Earth is also active in supporting the communities in which it operates. It is currently celebrating the Holiday Season by donating $1 from the sale of each of its popular Gingerbread Families to local charities within each of the communities that it operates.
