Boston Pizza Grandview gives gratuities to good cause

Strong community partner supports charities and creates 75 new jobs

December 11, 2008 // Franchising.com // Vancouver, - Boston Pizza International Inc. proudly announces the grand opening celebration of its second location in Vancouver on Monday, December 8, 2008. Boston Pizza Grandview, located at 2850 Bentall Street at Grandview Hwy., will create more than 75 new jobs and provide the area with a family-friendly restaurant and sports bar.

"Everyone at Boston Pizza Grandview is committed to being a strong community partner and actively supporting those in need," explains franchisee Darrin Redford. "Starting with our grand opening, we will be raising funds to support the Beat Cares Charity, which supports a massive toy drive in the Vancouver area benefiting the Salvation Army. We hope to bring a little joy to children across the lower mainland this holiday season."

As part of the grand opening party on Friday, December 5, the staff of Boston Pizza Grandview will present a cheque to the Beat Cares Charity from the tips collected from dress rehearsals leading up to the opening.

The restaurant will also support various charities throughout the year including Kids Help Phone, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Make-a-Wish Foundation, and Santa's Anonymous through the Boston Pizza Foundation, which has donated $8.2 million to various charities across Canada since its inception in 1990.

The new 178 seat restaurant and sports bar offers guests two experiences under one roof - a full-service, casual dining room and a separate sports bar - a perfect gathering place to enjoy great food and catch the big game. Boston Pizza Grandview features the chain's new contemporary design including a paperless kitchen to expedite orders and improve service.

With more than 100 menu items, there's something for everyone at Boston Pizza. Guests can choose from 23 varieties of gourmet pizza, plus pasta, appetizers, ribs, entrées, salads and desserts. Boston Pizza's Delicious Alternatives menu also offers six Health CheckTM options including whole wheat pasta.

Boston Pizza Grandview is owned by partners Sheldon Hay, Darrin Redford, Rick Woodcock, and Crystal Glass Canada, who bring a combined history of 23 years in the foodservice industry with Boston Pizza. Darrin Redford will serve as the restaurant's general manager, overseeing the day-to-day operations.

Boston Pizza has one other location in Vancouver, which is located at 190-1333 West Broadway. Boston Pizza has 58 locations across British Columbia and 313 nation-wide.
