Clockwork Home Services Donates to the Salvation Army's Angel Tree Program

December 16, 2008 // Franchising.com // Sarasota, FL, – Clockwork Home Services, Inc. (Clockwork), a leading provider of home services, recently donated $1500 worth of toys and clothing to the Salvation Army's Angel Tree program. The program provides new clothing or toys for children of local needy families.

In lieu of corporate holiday gifts to its employees this year, the company decided to spend the money on local families in need. Clockwork sponsored 9 girls and 5 boys between the ages of 5 and 14. The company purchased 11 bicycles, a basketball goal, scooter, portable radio and clothing.

"Given the state of the economy, we know many families are struggling to provide holiday gifts for their children," said Tab Hunter, president of franchise operations. "The 90 employees at Clockwork Home Services' Sarasota office are excited to be part of bringing a happier holiday season to children in our community."

The Sarasota County Salvation Army has approximately 3,000 angels in need this year, said Glenda Leonard, director of development.

"There has been a tremendous increase in the number of families requesting assistance," said Leonard. "These are people that have never asked for assistance before. We are very thankful for the generosity of local companies like Clockwork Home Services. Donations like theirs make Christmas a little brighter for families in need."

Sponsors may stop by any LandMark Bank or the ABC 7 studio to pick up one of the angel gift tags. The tag lists a specific gift that a child has requested from Santa. They are accepting donations until December 17.
