Weichert, Realtors(R) Wraps Up Its Season of Giving

Company collected nearly 40,000 items during its annual holiday drive to benefit families of need within the communities it serves

January 12, 2009 // Franchising.com // Morris Plains, N.J. – The Weichert Family of Companies successfully completed its 30th annual toy drive, collecting more than 26,500 toys for underprivileged children this past holiday season. The new, unwrapped toys were collected by Weichert, Realtors sales offices, corporate staff members and franchise affiliates. In addition to the toys collected, Weichert also gathered over 10,000 articles of clothing, food, and assorted personal items as well as more than $8,000 of monetary contributions, which were passed along to various charities.

Charities that benefited from this year's efforts included the United Way, the National Center for Children and Family, the Division of Youth and Family Services, Tomorrow's Children, City Team Ministries, Salvation Army, and Childhelp USA.

"Even at a time when the nation is seeing economic hardships, there was an overwhelming expression of the holiday spirit from our sales associates, employees, and from each of the communities we serve," said James M. Weichert, president and founder of Weichert, Realtors. "Each year, it's an honor to be part of an event that helps make it a brighter holiday for so many families throughout the country."
