Realogy Employees Volunteer as Teachers for a Day in Local Elementary School to Support Junior Achievement of New Jersey, Inc.

January 20, 2009 // Franchising.com // Parsippany, N.J. — Junior Achievement of New Jersey is proud to announce that more than 30 local employees from the Parsippany corporate headquarters of Realogy Corporation, the world's largest real estate franchisor, donated their time yesterday as volunteer teachers in the second annual Junior Achievement "JA Day" program. Volunteers traveled to nearby Alexander Hamilton School in Morristown, N.J., and taught third, fourth and fifth grade students about work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy.

"The faculty and students at Alexander Hamilton School seemed to very much enjoy having the Realogy volunteers participate as teachers yesterday and bring a unique perspective to their classrooms," said Catherine Milone, president of Junior Achievement of New Jersey (JANJ). "JANJ is proud to have Realogy volunteers participate in helping educate our state's elementary grade students, and we very much hope to welcome them all back to participate in our JA Day event next year."

Realogy employee and JANJ North district board member, Michael Miedler coordinated this event at a time when the need for financial literacy education has never been more necessary or widespread. Realogy volunteers provided the elementary school children with JA's interactive, colorful and information-rich curriculum and led hands-on games and activities designed to better equip the children to enter adulthood with a fundamental understanding of personal finances.

"Realogy's common vision with Junior Achievement is to share hope and opportunity with each and every young person we can reach in the classroom setting, and we are very proud of the efforts of our employees who took part in yesterday's JA Day," said Dave Weaving, chief administrative officer for Realogy and a JANJ State Board Member. "We would like to thank Junior Achievement of New Jersey for inviting us to be part of this special event in our community."
