Fast Casual Flatbread Café Signs Multi Unit Deal to Open Stores in North Carolina

January 21, 2009 // Franchising.com // West Redding, CT, — Kaupind Shah, Sheilesh Gandhi and Satyan Jadia have signed a contract with Sandella's Flatbread Café to bring two units to Cary and Durham, North Carolina. Sandella's Flatbread Café is the largest flatbread concept in the world with more than 130 locations. Each healthy and delicious menu item is based around its famous flatbread. Sandella's currently has more than 400 restaurants in development across the U.S. and the United Arab Emirates.

Shah, Gandhi and Satyan are researching the Triangle Park area of Cary for their first location which they hope to open before June of 2009. For their second location they will shift their focus to areas in Durham.

"We want to bring Sandella's to North Carolina because it's not just health conscious food, it's healthy and delicious," says Shah. "Many people in today's society are more health conscious than ever before and Sandella's is the perfect place for people who want a delicious and fast meal without sacrificing their health in the process."

Sandella's Flatbread Café incorporates the hottest trends in the fast casual segment, serving fresh, hot and healthy menu items such as grilled flatbreads, paninis, sandwiches, chopped salads, rice bowls and quesadillas – all made with their own delicious brick-oven, low calorie, fat free flatbread. Already ahead of its time, Sandella's menu is trans-fat free and listed in the Weight Watchers Points Guide.

Restaurants average 1,000-1,500 square feet and seat 30 to 40 guests.
