World's First Medical Identification Franchise Launches Nationally

USB Device with Confidential Medical Records Will Expedite Emergency Responders' Treatment of Unconscious Victims

ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- eMed-ID, the world's first medical identification franchise, announced today the launch of its low-cost, home-based franchise concept , providing consumers with a personal USB device containing their full medical history, which can then be easily shared with emergency responders and other medical professionals. The USB device, utilizing eMed-ID's proprietary software, comes in a variety of options, including wristband, credit card style and keychain.

eMed-ID offers immediate access to confidential medical information that helps consumers avoid life-threatening delays in treatment, medical or surgical complications, allergic reactions and medication errors. The company provides support to HIPAA's national compliance program designed to have all patient medical records converted to digital images by 2015.

eMed-ID represents an ideal franchise opportunity given the current economic conditions by providing interested franchisees and Area Representatives with a low-cost of entry. The company is currently offering qualified candidates a business opportunity with a total investment of less than $10,000. Three-year term financing is being offered to qualified candidates for approximately $38 a week.

The company's growth goals for 2009 include recruiting a minimum of 20 Area Representatives, representing more than 400 franchises throughout the country. Area Representative opportunities are available starting at $29,950 to those interested in recruiting franchisees and owning a minimum protected territory of 200,000 residents. In addition, the franchise provides Veterans a $2,450 discount and a three percent reduction on financing interest.

"As the economy continues to falter, eMed-ID presents a great opportunity for entrepreneurs interested in starting their own home-based business with a low-cost of entry," said Lonnie Helgerson, president & COO, eMed-ID Franchising, LLC. "eMed-ID is a full-time solution for those out of work or a part-time proposition for those looking for a second stream of income."

Consumers who purchase the tax-deductible eMed-ID package for $69.95 receive the eMed-ID USB wristband, four eMed-ID caregiver cards, two eMed-ID refrigerator cards and a bound report. In addition, eMed-ID is the only medical identification product that also provides customers with a legally-binding healthcare surrogate, HIPAA release and living will. eMed-ID also partners with the "Silver Alert" program, modeled after "Amber Alert," to help protect an increasing number of citizens with cognitive impairments.

eMed-ID is guided by a seasoned management team with in-depth experience in both franchising and technology. Led by Lonnie Helgerson, the newly launched franchise benefits from management's extensive background in building Ident-A-Kid into the world's largest child safety franchise.
