Raving Brands Readies Monkey Joe's for Aggressive Expansion in the Midwest

Concept Plans More Than 20 Locations in 2009 and Beyond

ATLANTA, Feb. 18 // PRNewswire // -- Monkey Joe's party and play centers, each offering vast square footage of kid-friendly inflatable jumps, slides and obstacle courses is expanding throughout the Midwest with future store openings in Illinois, Indiana, Missouri and Wisconsin. The plan, beginning in 2009, will focus on a smart, aggressive growth strategy that culminates with more than 20 locations.

"A children's party staple along the East Coast, we are excited to bring this inflatable filled play center to the booming Midwest and offer parents throughout these great states the opportunity to have a fun and exciting environment where their children can play...with no appointment necessary."

Monkey Joe's caters to children ages 2-12 with an array of giant, air-filled play structures, and developmental games; a separate toddler area provides age-appropriate play for children who might not be so steady on their feet. Monkey Joe's also features multiple private party rooms and party themes, with on-site party planning and concession items, including pizza, snacks, beverages and gifts.

Growth of the Brand

The Midwest deals consist of several new and current Monkey Joe's franchisees with many signing multi-unit contracts. Of the franchisees, Jim Oremus has plans to bring eight Monkey Joe's locations to the Chicago area beginning in the first quarter of 2009 through 2012. "The lack of children's play centers and activity places made us gravitate to a franchise like Monkey Joe's," says Oremus. "Monkey Joe's stands apart from the competition by offering a fun, safe and clean environment for children to play, with no appointment necessary. We feel strongly that allowing walk-ins was the best model for parents and children."

Adding to his two current facilities, franchisee John Rush plans to open two additional Monkey Joe's locations in 2009 and one in 2010 in the St. Louis area. "We have enjoyed owning and operating this franchise very much," states Rush. "We have been welcomed by the St. Louis community and feel we have made a significant contribution to the city by giving parents a great place to take their children."

All four states will see an infusion of Monkey Joe's with eight more opening in 2009 and eight to follow through 2012.
