Espresso giveaway will ease the pain of "springing forward" with daylight saving time.

Minneapolis--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Amid drowsy drivers, whiny kids and crabby co-workers who missed out on a precious hour of sleep, Caribou Coffee, the Official Coffee of Daylight Saving Time, is providing a beacon of light — free espresso.

Caribou Coffee is giving customers a free solo shot of espresso or a free "Moose It" option of adding another shot of espresso to any drink during business hours on Sunday, March 8, and Monday, March 9, at all Caribou Coffee locations. Much as daylight saving time began as a way to save energy, Caribou Coffee is stepping in to save customers from the worst mornings of the year as they "spring forward" this weekend.

"As if missing an hour of sleep isn't bad enough on Sunday," says Caribou Coffee Senior Vice President of Marketing Alfredo Martel, "by the time Monday rolls around, you feel like a zombie, the kids won't get out of bed without crying, and you need excellent coffee just to stay awake and stay sane. Our customers deserve better on these rough mornings!"

This is the seventh year that Caribou Coffee has helped ease the spring transition by providing customers with an extra boost of caffeine during daylight saving time.
