Brinker International Named 2009 Rising Star by Women's Business Council Southwest

Dallas, // PRNewswire-FirstCall // -- Brinker International, Inc. (NYSE: EAT) was recently selected as the Corporate Rising Star Award recipient at the Women's Business Council Southwest Parade of Stars. The award is given annually to a corporation who, through their active participation, has grown their Supplier Diversity program and made strides in utilizing Women Business Enterprises (WBEs). Only companies with formal Supplier Diversity programs implemented since 2006 are eligible. Previous winners include Merrill Lynch, Dallas-Ft. Worth International Airport and last year's winner, Dell Inc.

David Robinson, senior manager of supplier diversity for Brinker International accepted the award on the company's behalf.

"Although Brinker is the recipient of this honor, this was a collaborative effort comprised of the support of the WBCS Council, WBEs, other Council Corporate members who mentor and share their knowledge, and the dedication throughout the Brinker organization to this commitment," said Robinson. "Brinker is dedicated to ensuring we are including Minority and Women Business Enterprises (MWBE) in bid opportunities."

In addition to the Rising Star nomination, Brinker topped the list of nominees with nominations in the categories of Corporation of the Year and Corporate Advocate of the Year for employees Robinson and Susan Spring senior director of facilities.
