Seattle--(BUSINESS WIRE)--In an effort to align with a worldwide hotel network and fully leverage its assets as a leading Seattle hotel property, Arctic Club Hotel owners have announced the 120-room, historic downtown property will become a Doubletree® Hotel, according to Arctic Club Hotel general manager Stan Kott. The hotel will be renamed as the Doubletree Arctic Club Hotel Seattle – Downtown in mid-May.
"The Arctic Club Hotel conversion to a Doubletree will benefit the property with greater name recognition associated with a powerful worldwide sales and marketing infrastructure, including the Hilton HHonors® guest reward program, and global sales and reservations offices benefiting customers and contributing to the long-term success of the hotel," Lara Latture, executive vice president of The Hotel Group, said. "Through this new affiliation we look forward to welcoming Seattle visitors to experience our unique sense of style and luxury and more rewards than ever before when they stay at the Doubletree Arctic Club Hotel Seattle Downtown." The Hotel Group will continue to manage the Hotel as an operational authority, as it has since the property's summer 2008 opening, alongside their 24 other properties throughout the country.
Delivering both the service and facility expectations of Doubletree guests, owners of the Arctic Club Hotel, Arctic Club Master Tenant LLC, have entered into a franchise license agreement with Hilton Hotels Corporation that will satisfy current guests while also aligning the hotel with Doubletree standards. The most noticeable changes that will take place at the hotel will include new hotel signage, the signature Doubletree guest amenity of a warm chocolate chip cookie upon arrival, extensive employee training and the addition of customer service programs.

Untouched will be the unique historical appointments of the landmark Arctic Building—from its Alaskan marble, breathtaking Northern Lights Dome Room to its 23-walrus-head exterior molding. Also remaining will be the Hotel's interior look and feel throughout its lobby areas and guest rooms, and the Hotel's sustainability initiative of leadership in protecting renewable resources through recycling programs in guest and employee areas.
The new banner will also prompt a redirection of the on-property full-service restaurant, JUNO, from its previous upscale menu offering to that of an urban casual dining experience, Latture added.
The Arctic Club Hotel opened July 9, 2008 and has been lauded for its preservation of historical architecture, old-meets-new Northwest thematic interiors, and modern amenities.
