Bookkeeping Express Bolsters Advisory Board

Experienced Investor, Advisor and Senior Manager Keith Mueller Joins Rapidly Expanding Bookkeeping Services Franchisor

April 17, 2009 // Franchising.com // McLean, Virginia - Bookkeeping Express, the first U.S. franchise focused solely on bookkeeping services, announced today that Keith Mueller has joined the company's Advisory Board and has invested in Bookkeeping Express Enterprises. As a member of the company's Advisory Board, Mueller will help guide the company's strategic franchise growth

"I embrace this opportunity with great enthusiasm and an appreciation for the growth Bookkeeping Express has experienced since it began franchising less than a year ago," Mueller said. "I intend to help the company and its franchisees continue to build on the momentum created during the past 10 months. My focus is on providing guidance that will grow the franchise system, improve unit sales growth, increase franchisee profitability, and raise brand awareness."

Mueller's appointment to Bookkeeping Express' Advisory Board follows a 27-year career with Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting). From 1982-2009, Mueller held a number of senior management positions at the internationally renowned consulting firm. His experience includes leading various aspects of Accenture's multi-billion dollar utilities industry division during several growth phases.

In addition to Bookkeeping Express, Mueller sits on Advisory Boards with UFood Grill, a fast casual, healthy food restaurant concept, and Cate Street Capital, a bio-mass power plant in Berlin, New Hampshire that will provide 65 megawatts of clean energy beginning in 2010. Mueller is also an investor in both businesses.

"Adding someone of Keith's caliber to our Advisory Board is a coup for our company," said Greg Jones, chief executive officer of Bookkeeping Express. "Bookkeeping Express is under the watchful eyes of another exceptionally talented business mind."

Mueller joins Rick Lowrie and Brent Early on the Advisory Board, both whom own and operate Bookkeeping Express franchises among other businesses.

Mueller earned degrees in Finance and Economics from Illinois State University. He currently resides in McLean, Virginia.

About Bookkeeping Express

With nearly 26 million U.S. small businesses, Bookkeeping Express offers a much-needed service to companies that are not equipped or do not wish to handle accounting responsibilities such as setting up charts of accounts and general ledgers, monthly data entry, processing and managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, producing monthly reports and tax reporting. Plus, Bookkeeping Express utilizes a Custom Flex Pricing Model that is based on the clients' needs instead of a one fits all, hourly billing approach.

Bookkeeping Express was founded in 1984 in California and grew to over 150 locations through licensing agreements. In 2007, Greg Jones, along with Bob Stocker and Merritt Green, purchased the company and launched the new business model in McLean, Virginia in January of 2008.
