But for business veteran and Chairman of Integrated Optical Services Corporation, Douglas Fitzpatrick Sr. nothing could be further from the truth.
Involved in the optical industry since 1960, Fitzpatrick began laying the groundwork to take his firm to the next level nearly two years ago. "I initially hired ActionCOACH Business Coaching in October of 2007 because I wanted to get a better handle on the business and plan for my succession," said Fitzpatrick "Twenty-one months later, Integrated Optical Services has accomplished these goals. Today, we are announcing a new era for the company. I am happy to pass the reins to my successor, Derek Fitzpatrick."

Derek Fitzpatrick brings with him core industry knowledge. Between 1998-2000, Fitzpatrick worked as Director of Operations at Integrated Optical Services. He has a detailed understanding of their manufacturing processes and internal operations. He most recently worked at Eagle Fustar TD where he was Managing Partner and a member of the Board of Directors. He is also the Founder and President of Tennis Excellence. Prior to that, Fitzpatrick worked as an Investment Advisor for Marcus & Millichap in Palo Alto.
Since joining Integrated Optical Services on May 19, 2009 in the role of President & COO, Fitzpatrick has spent the his first six weeks assessing financial systems, organizational structure and sales strategy of Integrated Optical Services.

While details were not available, the acquisition of Heussner is reported to include a transfer of intellectual property, physical assets, open contracts and client list.
