Nationally Accredited Primrose Schools Coming Soon to Philadelphia

Plans to Open Six New Franchise Locations in Next Four Years

June 15, 2009 // Franchising.com // Philadelphia —– Consistently known as a leader in the child care industry and early childhood education, Primrose Schools, announced plans to open six new schools in the Philadelphia market in the next four years and has identified key communities as part of the company's franchise development strategy. Primrose has more than 200 schools nationwide.

Primrose is actively seeking motivated individuals to independently own and operate the future schools planned for the Philadelphia market. Each new school will also positively impact the economy by creating approximately 25-30 new jobs and awarding approximately $2.9 to $4.1 million in project costs.

After conducting extensive research, including area demographics and other factors, Primrose found that while the demand for high quality educational child care continues to grow throughout Philadelphia, providers are limited. Meanwhile, many existing Primrose Schools nationwide are seeing solid enrollment numbers, and several schools have wait-lists.

"While there's a definite need for Primrose Schools in Philadelphia and surrounding communities, we're taking a careful approach to finding the right franchise owners who share our values," said Darin Harris, COO of Primrose Schools. "We look for motive, character and business savvy, but even more importantly, we must be absolutely certain that every one of our franchise owners shares the Primrose passion for nurturing children, and for making a difference in the community and in the lives of the families they service in their school."

Primrose Schools nationwide serve families with children ages six weeks to five years old, and its afterschool program provides engaging activities for children up to age 12. Primrose was the first educational preschool organization in the country to achieve the gold standard in educational accreditation by CITA, SACS CASI/NCA CASI, which is the same body that assesses 13,000 schools across the country.

Well-trained teachers bring to life the brand's proven, accredited and consistently delivered nationwide Balanced Learning® programming. Balanced Learning considers multiple aspects of growth and learning – social, emotional, physical and cognitive. Primrose uses national standards and research based knowledge to determine learning outcomes for children at different stages of their development. Primrose provides teachers comprehensive teaching objectives and curriculum activities that act as a blue print. This enables the teachers to focus on guiding and supporting each child's learning experience rather than having to make up daily activities. The curriculum blends together teacher-directed and child-initiated activities with a special emphasis on character development.

"Each new Primrose School that we open in Philadelphia will offer unparalleled education options for local families, and will give back to their surrounding neighborhoods and organizations through philanthropic programs," Harris said. "We're confident that we can find prospective franchise owners in Philadelphia who share our vision for delivering high quality, early childhood education."
