Back by Popular Demand, Bruegger's Adds Pretzel Bagel to Summer Menu
BURLINGTON, VT, June 22, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- For a limited time only, Bruegger's is bringing back an old favorite - the Pretzel Bagel. First introduced in 2007, the Pretzel Bagel will be featured on the bakery-cafe's menu again this summer.
The summer menu item combines the best of two favorites - the crunchy salt toppings and dark caramel colors of a soft pretzel with the flavors and texture of a Bruegger's authentic New York-style bagel. Guests can choose to eat it as a snack with just a hint a side of mustard or as a sandwich paired with Bruegger's healthy breakfast and lunch toppings.
"The Pretzel Bagel was such a fun menu option for our guests, we just had to bring it back this summer," says Bruegger's Executive Chef, Phillip Smith. "Reminiscent of a ballpark favorite, our guests loved it anytime of the day."
Like all Bruegger's bagels, the Pretzel Bagel is kettle boiled and baked to create a crunchy outside with a dense, chewy texture on the inside. The bagels are baked fresh daily at each of Bruegger's 290 locations and are free of trans-fats, making them a healthy summer option for Bruegger's guests.
"We listen to our guests and we note the limited time offers they request time and time again," said Bruegger's CEO Jim Greco. "The Pretzel Bagel is definitely an old favorite and we're excited to bring this flavorful and healthy choice back for our guests this year."
The pretzel bagel joins a growing menu that includes the company's signature sandwiches and paninis introduced in early 2009. The new line of sandwiches is served on fresh-baked bread and features exceptional flavors such as the Turkey Toscana and Tarragon Chicken Salad.
