Firespring Sponsors Jazz in June Concert Series

July 01, 2009 // Franchising.com // As part of its commitment to give back to the local community, Firespring, a marketing firm that specializes in affordable marketing and website solutions for small businesses and nonprofits, once again sponsors the weekly Jazz In June concert series.

For the past 18 years, the Jazz in June summer concert series has brought great jazz and great food to the great outdoors. The popular concerts are presented in the sculpture garden of the Sheldon Museum of Art every Tuesday in June.

Firespring has designed the website, marketing materials and t-shirts for this event for the past 8 years. As with the exhibits at the museum, each year the design and theme for Jazz in June changes. This year's design was inspired by modern artist Romare Bearden's collages of jazz performers.

"It's been a joy to watch the Jazz in June program grow over the years," said Jay Wilkinson, CEO. "We feel that art and music are a vital part of our community and we're thrilled to be able to contribute to this event's success."

Jazz in June began its first season with an audience of between 200 to 500 per show and now attracts several thousands per concert. The organizers bring in accomplished jazz musicians from around the country for this annual event. In addition to the music, the Jazz in June event also features garden tours, a sidewalk marketplace with local food vendors and artisans and activities for children.

Concertgoers are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs for a relaxing and enjoyable evening surrounded by jazz, outdoor sculpture and sweet summer skies. Jazz in June performances are free, but those in attendance are asked to make a minimum donation of $10 per family to continue the series.

About Jazz in June

Jazz in June is organized by the Sheldon Art Association (SAA), the Berman Music Foundation and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln School of Music, and this year presented by Baylor Evnen.
