Valpak(R) announces sale of Houston owned and operated location

July 20, 2009 // Franchising.com // (LARGO, FL) – Valpak Direct Marketing Services, Inc., located in Largo, FL, announces the sale of Valpak of Houston owned and operated market has been finalized today to Gene Adelson, the current owner of Valpak of Tarrant County (Fort Worth, Texas), and his business partner, Mark Mauser.

Gene Adelson owns and operates Valpak of Tarrant County, and has since 1999. Mark Mauser brings experience from the newspaper and solo mail products industry. Mark served as the Director of Sales for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram from 1997 to 2005 and also spent 10 years as Director of Sales with Harte Hanks focused on the Shopper publications.

"The Houston market presents an excellent opportunity for growth," said Adelson. "Our proven sales and management strategies should help us accelerate the growth of both piece count and local footprint," he said. "I am a big believer that you must always seek growth opportunities either internally or through acquisitions."

The Houston franchise is the second Valpak sale the company announced in February to sell all seven of its owned and operated markets over the next two years as part of a strategic move to streamline its holdings and focus on its core businesses.
