WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation (NYSE: KKD) is treating the Triangle with a new place to experience the Company's legendary, one-of-a-kind treats with the grand opening of its first Neighborhood Shop and Kremery in Knightdale, N.C., on Monday, August 3, beginning at 5:30 a.m.
The Knightdale and greater Triangle communities are invited to participate in the festivities beginning at 5:30 a.m. The first customer will receive one free dozen Original Glazed(R) doughnuts every week for a year; the next 11 customers will be given a free dozen Original Glazed doughnuts every month for a year. In addition, the first 100 customers will take home an official Krispy Kreme T-shirt. Customers can enjoy free Kool Kreme soft serve samples, and other Krispy Kreme treats throughout the day.
The 1,750-square-foot store, located in the Shoppes at Midway Plantation, will feature Krispy Kreme's unique offerings, including its one-of-a-kind doughnut varieties, signature coffees and espresso drinks, Krispy Kreme Chillers(R) and iced beverages. The new Knightdale location will also offer Krispy Kreme's brand new Kool Kreme(R) soft serve menu. Offered in Very Vanilla and Deep Chocolate, Kool Kreme soft serve is available in traditional cones, shakes and sundaes, all paired with a toppings bar. Customers can taste a few Krispy Kreme specialties, including the Company's signature doughnut sundaes, which come in chocolate cake, strawberry cake and Original Glazed. The Artic Avalanche(TM) combines Kool Kreme with a candy mix-in.

A ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:00 a.m. will feature Krispy Kreme executives, including Cindy Bay, senior vice president of company store operations; Steve Wymer, market manager for North Carolina; Sherri Smith, vice president of marketing; Knightdale officials, including Mayor Russell Killen, and Miss North Carolina, Katherine Southard.
The Knightdale Krispy Kreme Neighborhood Shop and Kremery features a drive thru and is located at 6727 Shoppes at Midway Drive, with hours of operation from 5:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Sunday through Saturday.
