Salt Lake City Woodcraft Initiative to Benefit Area Schools' Woodshop Programs

SALT LAKE CITY, Aug. 3 // PRNewswire // -- Woodworkers and do-it-yourselfers in the area can help raise money for local schools' woodshop programs by shopping at the Salt Lake City Woodcraft store, located in the Pheasant Hollow Business Park at 9891 South 500 West, between August 15 - September 30, company officials announced.

Lane Ketchersid, manager of the Salt Lake City Woodcraft store, said, "With the economy getting tight and shrinking educational budgets, Woodcraft wants to help maintain the quality of local school woodshop programs. To do that, we're going to give away five percent of our store's gross profits during the 45 day campaign period to qualifying schools, but we need everyone's help to do it."

Ketchersid said when a customer makes a purchase they will be able to dedicate the dollar amount of the purchase to their favorite local school. At the end of the campaign period, the top five schools will split the proceeds. For the schools that do not fall into the top five, they will be awarded woodworking tools and equipment donated by Woodcraft vendors, such as Jet, Kreg, Fox Chapel, FEIN and Steel City.
