August 05, 2009 // Franchising.com // PARSIPPANY, N.J. — For an unprecedented 8th consecutive year, the Microtel Inns & Suites® hotel brand was ranked by consumers as "Highest in Guest Satisfaction among Economy/Budget Hotel Chains" in a study conducted by J.D. Power and Associates, the global marketing information services company.
No other brand has ever ranked highest in guest satisfaction eight years in a row, regardless of segment.
Microtel Inns & Suites ranked highest in all seven guest satisfaction measures including reservations, check-in/check-out, guest room, food and beverage, hotel services, hotel facilities, and costs and fees.
"Microtel continues to raise the bar on consistency and satisfaction, delighting the customer with accommodations and service typically not expected from an economy brand," said Roy E. Flora, group president of Wyndham Hotel Group's Microtel Inns & Suites brand. "Our product and the level of service we deliver are what help us to rank at the top of consumer studies year-after-year."
He added, "Travelers want value and the Microtel brand provides just that with small luxuries including plush pillow-top mattresses, down-like blankets and free high speed Internet access."
Recently, the Microtel brand implemented an enhanced breakfast offering with frequently requested items including healthy cereal, yogurt, fruit and peanut butter to its existing breakfast offering of oatmeal, bagels, muffins, juice and coffee. The brand credits this breakfast enhancement as well as the hotel owners who implemented and supported the program for the 32 point improvement in the study's food and beverage measure.
"Listening to our guests is a top priority for us," added Flora. "Customers told us they wanted a better breakfast experience and they got one. It's nice to know that even our breakfast is exceeding their expectations."
