Four Points by Sheraton York Refreshes Look Following $15 Million Renovation

Inviting Hotel Offers New Family Room as Part of its Interactive Lobby, as well as Upgraded Guest Rooms

August 26, 2009 // Franchising.com // White Plains, NY – Four Points by Sheraton York is boasting a whole new look, thanks to a recently completed comprehensive $15 million renovation. Located in York, Pennsylvania, the property made significant upgrades to its lobby, restaurant and guest rooms as part of the Four Points by Sheraton global revitalization campaign. In the past five years, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) and its licensees have invested more than $1 billion in Four Points by Sheraton hotels with major property renovations, conversion and new-build hotels. 70 percent of the Four Points portfolio has turned over in the last five years due to strategic efforts to improve the quality and consistency of the hotels.

As a result of the renovation, Four Points by Sheraton York creates a real sense of arrival with its dramatically improved public space. The lobby has been opened up to create a spacious Family Room, where guests can socialize, grab a cup of fresh coffee and pop open their laptops, using the hotel's complimentary high-speed Internet. The hotel knocked down walls to achieve a more open flow and clean line of sight between the lobby, bar and restaurant. The lobby and restaurant received a fresh paint job and were upgraded with all-new furnishings, stainless steel finishes, ceiling tiles and artwork.

"Four Points by Sheraton York now truly embodies the brand's revitalized contemporary look and feel. We are very proud of our recent renovation, which greatly enhanced the guest experience by creating a more open and relaxing atmosphere," said Connie Cunningham, General Manager, Four Points by Sheraton York. "Even during the renovation, guests were very pleased with their stay and they have given us great feedback ever since."

From the carpeting to the ceilings, the hotel's 146 guest rooms were completely re-done and include brand-new bathrooms. Guest rooms all feature the Four Points by Sheraton Four Comfort Bed®, a luxurious ensemble including a plush mattress, an assortment of pillows, and stylish duvet. Improved in-room technology includes new flat screen televisions and a wide selection of movies and video games on demand. Guests receive free bottled water and complimentary high-speed Internet is available throughout the property.
