Country Place Living Celebrates National Assisted Living Week, Sept. 13-19

Assisted-living residences kick-off the celebration on National Grandparent's Day

August 31, 2009 // Franchising.com // IRVING, Texas -Country Place Living residences are celebrating National Assisted Living Week, Sept. 13-19. The weeklong celebration begins on National Grandparent's Day, Sept. 13, with Country Place Living locations hosting local activities in support of the national celebration.

National Assisted Living Week was established in 1995 by the National Center for Assisted Living. This year's theme, "Traditions of the Heart," pays tribute to the personal connection caregivers, relatives and volunteers have with seniors living in assisted-living residences.

"We are intimately connected with the communities we serve," said Cynthia Gartman, president and COO of Country Place Living. "Celebrating National Assisted Living Week is just one way we can honor residents and thank our communities. Our staff at each location takes great pride in planning and hosting events where the residents, their families and the community feel welcome and can come together."

Country Place Living locations will host a variety of events during the week including: dress-up tea parties, quilt shows, wine and cheese parties, pie-eating contests, favorite recipes cookbook creations, potluck lunches, luaus and more.
