September 21, 2009 // Franchising.com // Shannon Toler-New, president of 1-800-DryClean franchise, formally welcomed new franchisees, Tim and Andrea Noonan, owners of 1-800-DryClean of Farmington Valley, Connecticut.
"The Noonans came to us from Davenport, Iowa, where Andrea worked at Aloca's 130-acre facility overlooking the Mississippi River," said Toler-New. "The company began downsizing last October, and Andrea wanted to get to high ground before the flood of pink slips washed over her department."
"We could see it coming, so we began exploring franchise opportunities. It was time to take ownership of our future," said Andrea. "We also knew that we'd have more options back east in Connecticut where we have family."
The Noonans identified six franchise businesses that met their criteria for ownership: reasonable investment and working capital requirements, traditional hours of operation, and few employees. 1-800-DryClean also appealed to them because of the simplicity of the business, and the rapid break even and the return they could expect on their investment.
"We spent a lot of time investigating the franchises, but we always kept coming back to 1-800-DryClean," said Tim. "They had the systems, resources and, most importantly, the people we wanted to have at our side as we built this business."
1-800-DryClean is the world's largest dry-cleaning delivery service franchise. "Our business continues to grow as busy professionals and two-income families seek convenience and more free time," said Toler-New. "We've expanded our service to include not only residential, but also offices. Our franchise owners are thriving, and we're attracting quality franchisees like the Noonans, who want to take control and build an equity business."
The 1-800-DryClean franchise is a quality dry-cleaning and laundry pick-up and delivery service, serving both the residential and office markets. Entrepreneur magazine has ranked the business opportunity number one in its category and a Top Home-Based Business. The company has franchised since 2000, and currently has more than 130 franchise units across the United States. 1-800-DryClean is a member of the Service Brands International family of brands.
