Rubio's Fresh Mexican Grill(R) to Open New Restaurant in City of Industry

Bold, Distinctive Flavors of Baja Await City of Industry Residents

CARLSBAD, Calif., Sept. 21, 2009 // GLOBE NEWSWIRE // -- Rubio's Fresh Mexican Grill (Nasdaq:RUBO) will open its doors on October 8th at 17525 Colima Road in City of Industry, California. The new Rubio's(R) will be managed by restaurant industry veteran Lucy Wilcox, and it will employ approximately 30 team members from the local community. The restaurant features both indoor and outdoor seating, and it will be the first Rubio's in the city of Industry. Open seven days a week, hours of operation will be Monday - Thursday: 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday: 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Sunday: 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Rubio's fans who crave the flavor of Baja-inspired food and the experience of dining in the relaxed yet festive atmosphere of coastal Mexico will be able to visit the new Rubio's in City of Industry for a similar experience. Headlining the menu will be Rubio's World Famous Fish Tacos(SM), chargrilled chicken and carne asada steak tacos and burritos, freshly-made salads and quesadillas, and Rubio's proprietary HealthMex(R) line of tacos and burritos which are lower in fat and calories.

Rubio's will also feature hand-made guacamole and freshly-made tortilla chips along with a self-serve salsa bar featuring a variety of salsas and sauces made from scratch daily. As in most Rubio's locations, the City of Industry restaurant will serve domestic and imported beer.

Guests should easily find the new Rubio's in Puente Hills East shopping center by looking for Rubio's signature palapas in the outdoor dining patio. Other standout design features include hand-painted corrugated aluminum walls, colorful banquette seating, and custom light fixtures reminiscent of Mexican folk art. The interior enhances the overall guest experience, creates an atmosphere that is uniquely Rubio's, and provides an ideal platform for the fresh, Baja-inspired cuisine for which Rubio's is known.

The new City of Industry location brings the number of Rubio's restaurants to nearly 200 throughout California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah and Colorado.
