The Ms. Molly Foundation Is All Smiles About Its New Facebook Page

September 23, 2009 // Franchising.com // Alex Roberts, vice president, franchise development, Service Brands International, formally announced the launch of the Ms. Molly Foundation page on Facebook.

"Our Molly Maid franchise owners take an active role in supporting the Foundation because giving back to the communities we serve is a guiding principle of our Molly Maid franchise opportunity," said Roberts.

The Ms. Molly Foundation was formed in 1996 by Service Brands founder, David McKinnon, and his wife, Karen, as a non-profit organization whose mission is to help families affected by domestic violence. The Foundation is a link from Molly Maid franchise owners, employees and customers, to the shelters and safehouses in the communities that work directly with the victims.

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness month, and the Ms. Molly Foundation sponsors an annual Making a Difference Drive, "where we support local shelters and safe houses throughout the country," said Roberts. "In addition to our new website at www.mollymaidfranchise.com, the Facebook page is part of our social media outreach to communicate with Foundation 'fans' about our donations and volunteer programs."

Since the Foundation's inception, Molly Maid franchisees, employees and fans have raised more than $725,000. Molly Maid franchise owners nationwide raised a record $127,500 in 2008, a 30-percent increase over 2007.

"Whether holding silent auctions, cleaning and volunteering at local shelters, and organizing charity races, our Molly Maid franchise owners are making a difference in their communities and in peoples' lives," said Roberts. "We're encouraging everyone to become a Facebook fan, and to support this worthy cause."
